Create a trophy room in your heart. Each time you experience a victory, place a memory on the shelf. Before you face a challenge, take a quick tour of God’s accomplishments.

I want you to know you can face the future by remembering what I’ve done in the past. Memorials are important because they remind you of spiritual lessons learned, missions accomplished, and times when you experienced personal and spiritual triumphs. Record the prayers I’ve answered, the financial needs that have been met, and the blessings you’ve received. You can list these things in a journal or store them in your heart. Talk about these experiences with your children and your grandchildren. Remind them of My faithfulness.

Whenever you find your faith flagging, go over the reminders of what I’ve already done and repeat Philippians 4:19 aloud: “This same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Tell the stories of how I’ve met your needs, and keep a clear memory of My faithfulness. This practice will remind you to focus on hope.

We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, “What do these stones mean?” Then you can tell them, “They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant went across.” These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.
