Look Up
Look Up
Love Jesus with your heart and head and hands! Focus your heart’s affections on him as your greatest Treasure. Focus your head’s thoughts on the kingdom he will bring and the reason he is waiting. . . . [W]hen you love Jesus with your heart, head and hands, your life will become much simpler and fuller—and your desire for his return will grow.
John Piper
When you get up in the morning, anticipate the coming of the Son of Man. When the security you once enjoyed is crumbling, look up. When you wonder if you can bear the pain for one more hour, focus your thoughts on heaven. When you have lost your way, call out to Me for help. When you wonder why you have not yet been caught up to meet My Son in the air, be patient. The reasons for waiting are unclear to you now. Trust Me without knowing all the answers.
Concentrate on loving Me and loving the people around you. Simplify your day’s activities and ask, “If Jesus returns today, what do I want to be doing? Do I have unfinished business? Is there anyone else I should speak to about his or her eternal destiny? What are the things that matter in my day? What can I let go of? Am I ready to meet my Maker? What will I say when I see Him face-to-face?” When you anticipate the coming return of the King of kings and Lord of lords, your life will be happier and fuller.
Everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!
Luke 21:27-28
