Let Go

Let Go

I had struggled so hard and so long that I had simply exhausted myself, only to find that God had all the time in the world to wait for me to allow Him to free me.

Michelle McKinney Hammond

My plan for your life is unfolding differently from the picture you envisioned. For a while, your life felt unencumbered and stress-free. But as the years have gone by, there have been times when you fell down and ran away from Me due to wrong choices. When trials came, you begged Me for miracles—and sometimes clenched your fists in defiance against what I allowed to happen. You’ve built walls of isolation because you’ve been too busy or indifferent to listen to wise counsel from Me or others. You’ve been making demands of the people around you, and they are pushing back or even avoiding you. Every day seems more complicated and disruptive than the last. You’re not enjoying life; you’re just trying to make it through another cycle of rushing around until you fall into bed exhausted.

Today I want you to take a deep breath and consider a better way to live. My Word will give you the answers you need. When you spend time with Me, the fruit you will reap is peace. Instead of staying crazy-busy with activities, pause long enough to see the real needs of others. Seek My advice about how to comfort them. Realize that a spirit of quietness and confidence only comes when you stop and focus on Me. After sufficient rest, you will get more done. Let Me free you from your frenzy. Breathe in. Experience My peace.

The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.
