Homesick
Homesick
We need to be homesick for heaven. Though we have never been there, we still have something God has built within us that gives us a certain homesickness, a desire to be there.
Greg Laurie
Beloved, as you have kept your hand in Mine through many trials and hardships, I’ve seen a change in your perspective. In earlier years you were focused on getting rid of problems, making things easier and less stressful. But as you’ve read My Word, talked to Me, and sought to live within My will, you have become more aware of the brevity of your life, and you’re focusing more on where you’re headed, rather than trying to be totally free of pain.
You’ve learned that I’m preparing a spectacular home for you in heaven—and the longer you live in the far-from-satisfying place called Earth, the more you long for the home I’ve promised you. Allow your aches, pains, disappointments, and discouragements to make you homesick for the place I’m getting ready for you. On your hardest days, time moves slowly, but it won’t be long. My entire creation is groaning under the weight of sin. I won’t withhold your heart’s desire from you much longer. The longing you feel is from Me. Wait with anticipation. You’ll be home soon.
Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8
