Laughter

Laughter

For me, laughter is how we take a much-needed break from the heartache, such that when we turn to face it again, it has by some miracle grown smaller in size and intensity, if not disappeared altogether.

Liz Curtis Higgs

Cherish laughter as a gift from Me. It’s one of the sounds of joy. I created you with the capacity to experience joy in sorrow as well as in good times. Laughter is not disrespectful when you’re walking through the valleys of life. It gives you a sense of well-being and aids in the healing process. You will have little strength if you allow a broken spirit to rob you of a cheerful heart.

My Son, Jesus, reminded His disciples that although there was pain, sin, and chaos in the world, they would have joy if they trusted in Him and followed Him. “I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” (John 15:11). My gift of laughter can lighten your load on the pilgrimage of life. It will be a blessing to those who walk beside you, and you’ll discover that it’s contagious. It brings renewed hope and a fresh perspective to those who are hurting. Delight in Me, and allow your joy to erupt in laughter.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
