His Home

His Home

The Lord showed me, so that I did see clearly, that he did not dwell in these temples which men had commanded and set up, but in people’s hearts . . . his people were his temple, and he dwelt in them.

George Fox

You are My temple—the place I call “home.” The day you said yes to Jesus was the day My Spirit took up residence within you. Think about what it means to house the Lord of glory. When you have questions, My Spirit will be your Counselor. When you are sad, My Spirit will be your Comforter. When you are lost, My Spirit will be your Guide. When you need assistance, My Spirit will be your Helper. Don’t let this truth overwhelm you. When the disciples first heard about the role of the Holy Spirit, they didn’t understand, but now you have My Word to teach you about this deeply personal relationship that you and I enjoy.

Bask in the knowledge of My daily, constant, all-consuming presence within you. Honor Me with your body. It’s My home. You’ve been bought with a high price—the death of My Son on the cross. Be aware of My presence on the good days and on the hard days. Before you speak to Me about your needs, I know what’s in your mind and heart. This decaying world has brought you sorrow, but I have overcome the world—and until that day when you live with Me in heaven, I will make your heart My dwelling place. I am fiercely loyal to you. You are mine and I am yours. Always.

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price.
