Hearing God’s Voice

Hearing God’s Voice

If you want to hear God’s voice clearly and you are uncertain, then remain in His presence until He changes that uncertainty.

Corrie ten Boom

You have decisions to make, and there is unrest in your heart. You are anxiously longing for answers, and you don’t know what to do. Begin by seeking Me, as David did. “You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you” (Psalm 63:1, NIV). Then go to My Word. The primary way I speak to you is through the Bible. As you study, look for My direction through teachings and stories that are relevant to your situation. Ask Me to help you understand and apply what you’re reading.

The most important key to hearing My voice is to listen after you read My Word. Turn off all outside noise, and I will help you discern My voice from all the other voices that clamor for your attention. Hearing My voice requires a quiet heart—stillness on the inside in the middle of commotion on the outside. Practice patience. Humbly wait for My answers, and eventually your nagging doubt will be replaced with vibrant faith. You will experience peace and understanding in My presence. And when answers come, act in obedience.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

John 10:27, NASB
