You have inside you the capacity to invest your mental, emotional, and spiritual gifts in a way that glorifies God, impacts the world, and satisfies your own soul.

I have gifted you in a unique and personal way. When you use your gifts—whether they include teaching, praying, helping, giving, administrating, exhorting, leading, serving, discerning, evangelizing, showing hospitality, or having great faith—you are bringing glory to My name. “There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all” (1 Corinthians 12:4). What you may not expect is that when you use your gifts, you will experience great joy that satisfies your soul and brings fulfillment to your life.

Spiritual gifts are not meant to draw attention to you. Use them to bless and to build others up, and to further My work in this world. “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10). In the process of using your gifts, expect moments when you want to cry out, “Eureka!” That’s the joy you experience when your God-given gifts are perfectly matched with an opportunity to serve someone else, or to further My Kingdom. In that instant, you know beyond any doubt that you are living in the smile of My approval. I’ve designed you to experience My pleasure when we are working together in this way. Want joy? Use your gifts!

It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
