Encouragement
Encouragement
Encourage one another. Many a time a word of praise or thanks or appreciation or cheer has kept a man on his feet.
William Barclay
A word of cheer lifts the heart. There are times when your mind is filled with innumerable pressures, and an unexpected word of blessing changes the course of your day. Suddenly your perspective is more hopeful. Your vision focuses on promising outcomes. Your confidence in My truth is strengthened. Your faith is renewed.
I’ve designed you to be an encourager. Your words can tear down or raise someone’s spirits. The choice is yours. As you go through your day, look for people who need to hear words of appreciation. Let them know how they have inspired or blessed you. Honestly thank them for the way they demonstrate what it means to offer their gifts to others. Your own attitude will be uplifted as you engage in blessing them with supportive words. Build others up “according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29, NIV).
Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11, NIV
