Confidence
Confidence
Do not strive in your own strength; cast yourself at the feet of the Lord Jesus, and wait upon Him in the sure confidence that He is with you, and works in you. . . . Strive in prayer; let faith fill your heart; so will you be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Andrew Murray
You can confidently rely on Me. The world wants you to be self-confident, to believe that you have what it takes to flourish in uncertain times, based entirely on your own abilities. Confidence in yourself has huge limitations, but confidence in Me gives you something solid to stand on, because you can fully depend on Me. When you have self-confidence, you believe you can do anything you set your mind to. But with God-confidence, the burden for success doesn’t rest on you. As you develop confidence in Me, you’ll learn how to turn fear into faith and how to exchange shyness for boldness.
Another major benefit is in your prayer life. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14, NIV). You can also receive the promise of My blessing. “But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence” (Jeremiah 17:7). The main key to God-confidence is knowing that you are deeply loved by Me and that I will use My power and My wisdom on your behalf. I will give you confidence to face each day.
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
