Discouragement

Discouragement

Discouragement neutralizes optimism, assassinates hope, and erases courage. Perhaps no other human emotion is so commonly experienced and yet so infrequently exposed.

Dennis Rainey

My child, for far too long you have been burdened with the weight of discouragement. This may be caused by exhaustion, failure, fear, or never-ending frustration. Discouragement doesn’t mean you’re sinning, but you might be trying to find a solution in the wrong way. First, sit down and rest. Tell Me about your disappointments. Ask Me to help you see your challenges in a new light.

Fix your thoughts on the promises in My Word. Even if the source of your discouragement is not immediately removed, I will be with you at all times. Develop the habit of trusting Me before you see the answer to your prayer. I’m offering you peace. Memorize this Scripture verse: “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3). Shift your focus from your problems to Me. Guard against attacks from the enemy by making a daily appointment with Me. This is the most important item on your to-do list. Free yourself from unnecessary tasks so you can meet with Me, and know that I will lift your spirit.

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Deuteronomy 31:8
