Conquered
Conquered
If you are paralyzed by your past, if Satan is destroying your gifts and your calling by his incessant replaying of old tapes, you’re actually being hit by a double whammy. The original damage in the past is one thing—but now you’re letting yourself be hurt . . . again by the memory of what happened. . . . We should not be ignorant of Satan’s devices.
Jim Cymbala
You’ve allowed the enemy to influence your life. He has tried to impede My plans for your future. He’s been tempting you to give in to discouragement and even despair. He’s been telling you there is no way you can overcome that bad habit. He’s made you believe that you are to blame for all the wrong choices of the people closest to you. He’s made you think you’ll never surmount the missteps of your past. He’s been whispering, “You’re a loser! You’ll never be a good Christian, so why don’t you quit trying?” None of these accusations are true because they originate with the father of lies.
Here is the truth about what will happen to Satan: “Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur” (Revelation 20:10). Done. Finished. Conquered. Defeated. Vanquished. Crushed. So stop giving him any access to your mind and live in the confidence of knowing you belong to Me.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7, NIV
