Communion
Communion
Whenever we receive Communion, we must do so in humility and brokenness before God. We must rejoice and be grateful and thankful for our salvation.

You are in My family. Meet regularly with other believers who know and love Me, and together enter into the Lord’s Supper. It’s a time to stop and remember what Jesus did for you. Sometimes you neglect gathering at the table because you feel unworthy or because you have unconfessed sin in your life. But you don’t have to be perfect before you gather for Communion. Come as you are and spend time in My presence. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that isn’t pleasing to Me. Repent of those sins and then partake of the bread and the wine.
Look back and remember My love for you and consider what Jesus accomplished for you on the cross. In an unrushed state of mind, think about what Scripture says—to do this until he comes again. Then look ahead and focus on your conquering King—Jesus will come back. Rejoice and celebrate as you participate in Communion, just as the early church demonstrated. Come in honesty. Come with reverence. Leave with joy!
On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. . . .” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.”
1 Corinthians 11:23-25
