Childlike Faith

Childlike Faith

Childlike faith is for ordinary people. People like you and me who know our flaws only too well. Are you willing to be ordinary for God? Are you willing to admit your flaws and shortcomings and assume that God can do the extraordinary things through you?

Michael Yaconelli

Come to Me like a child. Tell Me what you are genuinely thinking, without stopping to make sure that what comes out of your mouth is “fixed up” and “grown up.” Talk to Me honestly and without reservation. Children know that prayers are important, and they’re eager to voice their concerns and requests. They don’t worry about fancy speech and appropriate decorum. They don’t like to wait for responses, and they are not embarrassed by tears.

Make a run for Me and let Me swoop you up in My arms. Let Me hear you laugh out loud. Let Me see you jump up and down. Let Me see the look in your eyes as you ask Me for God-sized miracles and fully believe that I will supply everything you’re asking for. Childlike faith is for desperate people who are sick and tired of being pretentious know-it-alls. It’s for someone like you who is coming to Me with giant needs, like a child to a father, asking for help or wanting to spend time together. I simply can’t resist you. Come!

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

Matthew 19:14
