Beloved

Self-rejection is the greatest enemy of the spiritual life because it contradicts the sacred voice that calls us the “Beloved.” Being the Beloved constitutes the core truth of our existence.

I want you to wake up every day and know how much you’re loved. Say it right now: “I am loved by God. I am His beloved.” There is nothing you could ever do to stop My unconditional love for you. There is no good deed you could accomplish that could make Me love you more. I’m crazy about you. Stop concentrating on your imperfections and inadequacies, avoiding My presence until you’ve cleaned up or feel good enough. Come the way you are right now. Embrace Me without embarrassment or insecurity.

You are the object of My love. Do you remember what I said at the time of My Son’s baptism? “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17, NKJV). Because of His sacrifice, I feel the same way about you. I treasure you, and you have My approval. Look into My face and see My delight for you. Live today confident that you are My beloved child.
