God wants to surprise you; He wants you to be amazed at the blessings He lays upon your life. When we begin to trust Him . . . our outlooks will begin to change, and our attitudes will begin to change as we begin to realize our Heavenly Father enjoys surprising us with His goodness.
Darrell Creswell
Keep your eyes open for My surprises. I want to bless you in unexpected ways. Sometimes you forget how powerful I am. Consider the way My Son’s actions astonished onlookers. When He healed a twelve-year-old girl who had just died, she immediately stood up and started walking around. His disciples were “overwhelmed and totally amazed” (Mark 5:42). When Jesus cast a demon out of a man, the crowds were astonished. They said, “Nothing like this has ever happened in Israel!” (Matthew 9:33). When Jesus healed a paralyzed man, “everyone was gripped with great wonder and awe, and they praised God, exclaiming, ‘We have seen amazing things today!’” (Luke 5:26).
Be aware of My presence in every part of your day. I may take your breath away with unexpected provision, a surprising word of encouragement, or an unanticipated encounter with a friend. You may discover a Scripture verse that speaks directly to your heart. Or you may have an opportunity to perform a random act of kindness, bringing a smile or much-needed hope to the recipient. Never lose your sense of amazement when you see My hand at work in your life, sometimes augmented through your actions.
The crowd was amazed! Those who hadn’t been able to speak were talking, the crippled were made well, the lame were walking, and the blind could see again! And they praised the God of Israel.
Matthew 15:31
