A Reflection

A Reflection

You were made to reflect God’s glory.

Tony Evans

What do you see when you look at yourself in a mirror? I want you to look more and more like Me. Absorb My principles and meditate on My promises, then speak aloud about them to others. The most powerful way you can glorify Me is to show the radiance of My Son, Jesus Christ. When you reflect His light, you are bringing Me joy. The wonderful brightness of His presence is in the sparkle of your eyes, the curve of your smile, and your openhanded generosity to the people you meet.

When your head touches the pillow in the evening, do what the psalmist did: “I reflect at night on who you are, O LORD; therefore, I obey your instructions” (Psalm 119:55). Ask Me to so fill you with My love, compassion, comfort, and peace that when you awaken and face your day, everyone you encounter will see My glory reflected in your speech, your behavior, your choices, and your attitude. You are My image bearer, and I am celebrated when you identify with Me. Like a proud parent, I want to shout, “That’s My kid—a spitting image of Me!” You are living out your purpose when you display My glory.

All of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

2 Corinthians 3:18
