A New Thing

A New Thing

At some point, most of us will encounter a challenging situation that permanently alters the rest of our life. Will you withdraw and focus only on your personal pain, or will you recognize that God is doing a new thing and make choices based on His unshakable truth?

Carol Kent

Life is filled with unexpected upheavals. At some point, nearly everyone experiences the gut-wrenching reality of something happening in life that will forever change the future, so stay alert. “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

When this happens, do not rehearse what you enjoyed about the past and despair about your life now. Take time to see what I am birthing out of the pain. During this season of suffering, you have matured in your faith. You’ve studied My Word to find answers. You’ve ministered to others who are struggling. There is a deepening spiritual maturity in you that will bless the lives of others. I don’t want you to live in the past—instead, look to the future. Life will not be the same. It will be different and beautiful in a new way. I will open doors for you and provide spiritual nourishment along the way. Embrace this emerging opportunity and recognize My plan going forward.

I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Isaiah 43:19
