Escape Route

Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters—a pathway no one knew was there!

The Israelites had reached the end. The Red Sea stretched before them and the Egyptian army approached from behind. There was no escape. Clearly, God brought them there to die and then abandoned them. They could think of no other explanation.

Their minds changed when the wind began to blow and the waves turned to walls. At the exact moment they needed it most, an escape route appeared. A dry path through the middle of the Red Sea led them to safety. Who would have guessed?

Perhaps, like the Israelites, you feel like you’ve reached the end. You see no options, no escape. Do not lose heart, my friend. Do not, in desperation, try to create your own way out. God did not lead you here to perish. He has prepared a path for your escape. You don’t see it yet, but it’s there. He has made a way where there appears to be none.

Visualize the path through the Red Sea. Praise God for being the way-maker.

Father, I believe you’ve made a way of escape. Help me be patient until you reveal it to me.
