Does God still perform miracles today? How can I see more miracles in my life?

A Moment with God

Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded them. When Aaron raised his hand and struck the ground with his staff, gnats infested the entire land, covering the Egyptians and their animals. All the dust in the land of Egypt turned into gnats. Pharaoh’s magicians tried to do the same thing with their secret arts, but this time they failed. And the gnats covered everyone, people and animals alike. “This is the finger of God!” the magicians exclaimed to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh’s heart remained hard. He wouldn’t listen to them, just as the Lord had predicted.

The miracles of God recorded in the Bible can seem like ancient myths if you fail to recognize God’s intervention in your life today. Just as Pharaoh was blind to the miracles God performed right before his eyes, you, too, can blind yourself to God’s miracles and fail to notice the mighty work God is doing all around you. Maybe you think a miracle is always a dramatic event such as raising a dead person to life. But miracles are happening all around you. These supernatural occurrences may not be as dramatic as the parting of the Red Sea, but they are no less powerful. The birth of a baby, an awesome sunset, the healing of an illness, the restoration of a hopeless relationship, the rebirth of the earth in spring, salvation by faith alone, the specific call of God in your life. These are just a few. If you think you’ve never seen a miracle, look closer. They are happening all around you.
