My Question for God

How do our differences help us to accomplish more for God?

A Moment with God

God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And evening passed and morning came, marking the first day.

Genesis 1:5

People often say about each other, “We’re as different as night and day.” Have you ever thought about how that might be a good thing? God, in his infinite wisdom, made light and darkness work together to form one day. Both are necessary because each facilitates life in a different way. Just as light and dark are different but united, you can be united with people who are different from you by using your differences to accomplish something whole. Employing your differences to accomplish something significant is a wonderful picture of harmony.

In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all. The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow.

Isaiah 11:6-7

“The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. But the snakes will eat dust. In those days no one will be hurt or destroyed on my holy mountain. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

Isaiah 65:25

Although you may fear that you and your spouse or boss or neighbor might never be compatible, take hope in the fact that God will one day restore camaraderie even among the greatest of enemies in the animal kingdom. If God has such a wonderful plan for the animals, how much more you have to look forward to.

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

1 Corinthians 12:27

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Ephesians 4:16

Christ designed you to contribute to the body of believers. The human body is made up of separate and different parts, yet all parts work together to sustain life. It is the same with the church, the body of believers. Each person is a separate part with a unique role to play. Your role will be different from the roles of others, but the beauty is that these differences help sustain the body of Christ and allow it to flourish. Sometimes, differences can enhance harmony.

Divine Promise

Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
