Dignity

Dignity

My Question for God

Can I follow God and maintain my dignity?

A Moment with God

God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Genesis 1:27

You made [people] only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.

Psalm 8:5

The LORD delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Psalm 149:4

Dignity is the quality of worth and significance that every human being has been given when created in the image of God. Dignity has two angles—recognizing your own worth before God, and recognizing that same worth in others. Unfortunately it is human nature to rank everyone from important to insignificant. But a proper view of dignity motivates you to see others as God sees them, worthy of your love and respect no matter where they live or what they do. When you behave respectably, have self-control and strong faith, and are loving and patient, you show dignity. This fosters a deep respect for others as you build them up rather than rank them as being beneath you. When you realize how God esteems you, the opinions of others matter less.

Divine Promise
