How can I tell whether something is true?

A MOMENT with GOD

Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word.

James 1:17-18

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Numbers 23:19

You only trust someone who is dependable, who can always be counted on to tell the truth. God didn’t just create truth; he is truth. Therefore, God cannot lie. You must believe that in order to believe this: Because God cannot lie, everything he says in the Bible is true. Keep reading through the Bible. Find God’s promises to you. Discover how much he loves you and wants a close relationship with you. When you trust him with your whole heart, he will make himself known to you in amazing and powerful ways and you will experience a breakthrough in your relationship with him.
