What can I do when I’m tired but I have to keep going?

God made us flesh-and-blood human beings. At creation, he set aside one full day of rest per week because he knew we would need it. Jesus lived in a human body, so he understands what it means to be tired. He understood the limitations of his disciples and led them in taking regular breaks. Life is full and busy, but it must be balanced by regular attention to the health of your body and soul. Being overly tired is dangerous because it can keep you from thinking clearly or cause you to do or say something you’ll regret. But when it’s impossible to get enough rest, your weariness is an opportunity to experience God’s faithfulness. He will give you renewed strength when you grow weary. When you come to him in praise, he refreshes your heart. When you come to him in prayer, he refreshes your soul. When you come to him in solitude, he refreshes your body. When you come to him in need, he refreshes your mind. When you come to him in thankfulness, he refreshes your perspective. Coming to God releases you from your burdens and allows you to draw strength from him, the source of strength.

DIVINE PROMISE

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:29-31
