MY QUESTION for GOD
How can I find the time I need?
A MOMENT with GOD
Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.
Psalm 90:12
Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
Exodus 20:8-11
He told them, “This is what the Lord commanded: Tomorrow will be a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath day set apart for the Lord. So bake or boil as much as you want today, and set aside what is left for tomorrow.”
Exodus 16:23
Be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 5:15-18
Time is a lot like the life of a battery—we rarely know how much is left until it’s gone. With time, though, we cannot buy more or borrow more from someone else. That is why time is so valuable. Yet we often live as though it means so little. All of us would admit that we waste far too much time doing things that aren’t important or significant. We let interruptions rule much of our day. We know we should be more purposeful about how we spend our time, but we’re often unsure about how to do that. The Bible is clear that how we use our precious little time on earth will have an impact on our life in heaven. We seem to live by the motto “So much to do, so little time.” But God does not ask you to do everything, just everything he has called you to do, and he assures you that there is enough time for that. The more time you invest in discovering the purpose for which God created you and in living out that purpose with obedience and responsibility, the more meaningful and significant your time on earth will be. The best way to find the time you need is to devote time to God for worship and time to yourself for rest. Devoting time to God gives you spiritual refreshment and the opportunity to discover his priorities for you. Devoting time to rest gives you physical refreshment and the energy to do what you are called to do in the time you have.
DIVINE PROMISE
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. . . . God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart. Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11
