MY QUESTION for GOD

How can I stop dwelling on the bad thoughts that pop into my mind?

A MOMENT with GOD

It is what comes from inside that defiles you. . . . All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.

Mark 7:20-23

Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart.

Psalm 26:2

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Philippians 4:8

Controlling our thought life is perhaps one of the greatest struggles men face. God takes your thought life seriously because your thoughts disclose who you really are. Even if you do not immediately act on your thoughts, they do shape your attitudes and eventually your actions. A habit of dwelling on bad thoughts will eventually lead you to look for ways to act on those thoughts. Temptation becomes too strong. You must allow God to change the way you think by focusing your thoughts on him and on anything that is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. You can begin by reading Scripture, meditating on it, and memorizing passages that focus on these good things. When bad thoughts pop into your mind, immediately redirect them to God’s Word and ask God to change your thought life. This takes great discipline but is very effective. Each victory over negative thoughts is a divine moment between you and God.

DIVINE PROMISE

I know, my God, that you examine our hearts and rejoice when you find integrity there. 1 Chronicles 29:17
