Strength

Strength

MY QUESTION for GOD

How can I experience God’s strength in my life?

A MOMENT with GOD

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. . . . Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

Ephesians 3:16, 20

The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

2 Chronicles 16:9

To keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. . . . For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

A weight lifter’s strength is measured by the number of pounds he can lift. A building’s strength is measured by its resistance to external forces, such as wind or earthquakes. A corporation’s strength is often measured according to its net assets. But how do you measure spiritual strength? The Bible teaches that spiritual strength is having the faith to move mountains, the power to lift burdens, a foundation deep enough to hold up against the forces of temptation, and the security of eternal salvation. How do you get this kind of strength? First, recognize that the power God used to raise Jesus from the dead is the same power that will raise you from the dead if you believe in him. And that same power is available to you now so you can live more effectively and courageously for him. Next, realize that God promises to give you inner strength through the power of his own Holy Spirit when you depend on him and trust him to do what is best for you. Finally, remember that God’s power works best through your weaknesses. When you are weak and limited, God will supply the strength to help you overcome great obstacles. God loves to work through your weaknesses because then everyone can see that it is him, not you, supplying the strength.
