Pressure
Pressure
MY QUESTION for GOD
Is pressure ever a good thing?
A MOMENT with GOD
I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.
Matthew 12:36
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10
The pressures in your life can be positive or negative. We generally think of peer pressure as a negative influence, such as when you are swayed by friends or coworkers to join them in behavior that is contrary to God’s standards for living. But pressure can be positive, too. For example, the pressure of accountability can be a powerful force for positive change. If a father tells his teenage son to clean up his room or face being grounded from the car for a week, the son will likely be very motivated to accomplish that particular task! Jesus reminds us that we are all accountable for our words and actions. The day is coming when God will judge everything and everyone, and we will receive the good or bad consequences that our actions deserve. This knowledge leads us to renew our commitment to holy living and to seek the forgiveness that only Jesus can offer.
DIVINE PROMISE
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. Psalm 1:1
