How can I make my faith more real, especially among those who don’t believe as I do?

A MOMENT with GOD

If you see your neighbor’s ox or sheep or goat wandering away, don’t ignore your responsibility. Take it back to its owner. . . . Do the same if you find your neighbor’s donkey, clothing, or anything else your neighbor loses.

Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.

Romans 12:9

In our world we seem to find it increasingly easy to say, “I don’t want to get involved.” When we see someone in need or notice something we could do to help others, we may be tempted to turn a blind eye and pretend we don’t notice. We may hope someone else will do something about it. God reminds us that pretending to care about the needy, or pretending not to notice when someone needs help, or pretending there’s nothing you can do, are all forms of hypocrisy. Genuine faith is compassionate and active, ready and willing to go the extra mile to help those in need.

DIVINE PROMISE

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 1 John 3:18-19
