Evil

Evil

MY QUESTION for GOD

Is it dangerous to be around evil people?

A MOMENT with GOD

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Get away from all these people so that I may instantly destroy them!” But Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground. “O God,” they pleaded, “you are the God who gives breath to all creatures. Must you be angry with all the people when only one man sins?” And the Lord said to Moses, “Then tell all the people to get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.” So Moses got up and rushed over to the tents of Dathan and Abiram, followed by the elders of Israel. “Quick!” he told the people. “Get away from the tents of these wicked men, and don’t touch anything that belongs to them. If you do, you will be destroyed for their sins.”

Numbers 16:20-26

Ultimately, God will judge all evil at the Last Day. But there have also been times here on earth when God’s anger against evil is poured out in judgment. There are times when people who consistently live an evil lifestyle put themselves in harm’s way enough times that harm does eventually come to them. Moses warned the Israelites to stay away from Korah, Dathan, and Abiram because God was getting ready to punish these men for the evil they had done. If others even got too close to them, they would be in harm’s way. Don’t get too close to evil, or you may be harmed spiritually or physically. If you are attracted to those who do evil or hang around such people too often, you are in danger of becoming like them and thus experiencing the judgment that will come their way. It is a divine moment when it suddenly dawns on you just how dangerous your situation is if you are too close to evil.
