Deeper Life #280

Deeper Life #280

What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

—Luke 15:4

THE FIFTEENTH CHAPTER OF LUKE, in which our Lord talks about the joy of finding things lost, has revealed these questions to me: The Lord wants my eyes to look through; is He looking through them? The Lord wants my brain to think through; is He thinking through it? The Lord wants my hands to work with; is He working with them? The Lord wants my body to walk and to live in for one purpose—to go after the lost from His standpoint; am I letting Him walk and live in me?

The Christian must allow Jesus Christ to have His right of way in each particular area of life. Thousands of Christian men and women today are seeking to train their minds and bodies—for what purpose? To help them “realize themselves”! But Jesus Christ wants our bodies so that He can work through them to find those who are lost.

Prayer Thought: Take my mind, my hands, my whole being and make me a blessing for Your glory.
