Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

—Luke 15:10

IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN worker, beware of putting anything first in your mind, but Jesus Christ. If you put the needs of your people first, you will have something between you and the power of God. Face Jesus Christ steadily, and allow nothing to come between you and Him. Why? So that the Holy Spirit may flow through your preaching and teaching to the needs of the people. You will find that people will always distinguish between that kind of a message and the message that is spoken out of mere sympathy for them.

Only one Person understands us all, and that is the Holy Spirit. He understands the Lord Jesus Christ too; and if I keep my soul’s avenues open to Him and get my message from Him—not allowing anything to obscure it—He will locate the needs of people.

God will give you people who have been convicted by what you say. You will have to deal with them, whether you like it or not, and you will have to take these cases on your heart before God. God will help you!

God grant that, as we go forth in our varied works, we may fill our souls with Christ and then patiently seek souls for Him.

Prayer Thought: Spirit of God, fill my soul with Christ’s love of the lost.
