Look And See

Look And See

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

Romans 1:20

During the early years of the space race in the 1960s, a Soviet cosmonaut proclaimed to the world that he had proved there was no God because he had looked around in space while circling the earth and couldn’t find Him. (One humorist suggested that the cosmonaut would have met Him promptly if he had just opened the hatch of the capsule!)

Several years later, on December 24, 1968, another message was boldly proclaimed by American astronauts James Lovell, Frank Borman, and William Anders as they circled the moon: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Had our astronauts seen God in person to verify their claim? No—but they had seen evidence of Him.

The Bible tells us that one of the chief ways we know of God’s existence and His love for us is by the marvels of His creation. Whether we step back and look at the way our solar system works, or step forward and look at the intricacies of nature and the miracle of human life, we see evidence of God.

The next time you need reassurance of the presence of God, venture outdoors and open your eyes wide!
