Cling To God

The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble.

Psalm 37:39

Here’s a way for you to think about this the next time trouble comes: if you and God are standing apart from one another, and trouble comes between you, it can drive you farther apart. But when you see trouble coming and cling to God with all your might, you never let trouble come between you and God—then you have the victory. In fact, the pressure of the trouble will push you closer and closer to God. It will only serve to strengthen your relationship with Him. People tell me all the time, and I can testify as well, that they never experience the nearness of God as much as they do when they are in the desert places of life. That happens by not letting trouble come between you and God.

Prayer is a way to cling to God. You reach out to Him and communicate with Him with the words of your heart. You pour out your praises and your petitions, and you stay in an attitude of prayer until deliverance comes.
