For Walking In Obedience
For Walking in Obedience
ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO, I had the opportunity to follow the deepest desire of my heart. It was a dream that I’d longed for since about the age of twelve. But after the opportunity presented itself, I didn’t have peace. I sensed God asking me to say no.
Have there been days when I’ve questioned my decision to pass up that opportunity? Yes! Absolutely! It was a lifelong dream! But when we choose to obey the Lord, we win every time.
Disobedience is the primary reason our prayers are denied. What responsible parent would keep rewarding a disobedient child? In fact, the Bible states that Jesus became the King of kings and Lord of lords because he was obedient.
Philippians 2 says, “When he was living as a man, he humbled himself and was fully obedient to God. . . . So God raised him to the highest place. God made his name greater than every other name” (verses 8-9, NCV).
If we want our prayers answered, obedience is a must.
STRENGTH IN THE WORD
The LORD is watching everywhere, keeping his eyes on both the evil and the good.
TODAY I DECLARE
I will walk in obedience.
PRAYERFUL THOUGHTS
Dear Lord,
Please forgive me for disobeying you. No one can fool you. You’re the God who sees everything, even the buried sins of the heart.
Purify me, O Lord. I’m truly sorry for disobeying you. Reopen your ears to my prayers, and let me enter your presence again.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
KEEPSAKE
