Beautiful Word Devotional #34
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5
Our generous God loves to give us wisdom. That’s why James reminded us that when we’re bewildered by life, we can ask God directly for wisdom.
And God is not an angry PE teacher who slaps you upside the head if you can’t do a pull-up. The Scripture assures that God is happy to give wisdom “without finding fault.”
You may be facing a bewildering situation and can’t figure out what to do. Or perhaps you have no idea how to answer that person who is aggressively questioning your beliefs. Or maybe you have no idea how to parent a now-wayward child. The good news: you don’t have to figure out any of this—you don’t have to figure out anything—on your own. God loves you, and he wants to generously provide you with wisdom. Just ask.
Lord, I need wisdom today. Thank you in advance. I’m grateful you are a generous God, amen.
