“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20–21
In our own strength, much that we might want to do in this life is impossible. But when we are walking through life with God, we step into his realm of miraculous possibilities. In fact, he thrives on doing the impossible. He wants us to learn to trust him for those big and seemingly impossible outcomes.
Thankfully, we don’t have to have a mountain-sized faith to start. Big things (a twenty-foot mustard bush with a twenty-foot spread) happen from small beginnings (a one-millimeter-in-diameter mustard seed).
Clearly, planting that minuscule seed in the ground requires faith. The farmer had enough faith to bury it, then God caused the miracle of the tree.
Like the farmer, bury the tiny seed of your faith and entrust the outcome to Jesus.
Lord, you know that my faith feels small at times. I am so grateful that you can do big and even impossible things in response to that fleck of faith as I simply trust you, amen.
