Beautiful Word Devotional #311

“Ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Jeremiah 6:16

Think about God’s commands for a minute. Every single one of them is for our own good, isn’t it? So is this call to walk in the good way wherever God directs, and the promised good result is rest for your soul.

What is “the good way”? God has answered this question in his Word. The good way is to live a life characterized by love, service, obedience to God, and trust in him. Where is that good way for you specifically? It is wherever God shows you, guides you, places you.

As you walk where God wants you to walk and as you walk in the way God wants you to walk, you will know the peace that comes with obedience, you will know the blessing of your heavenly Father’s pleasure in you, and you will know rest for your soul.

Lord, please show me where you would have me walk and then, I ask, enable me to walk in such a way that points people to you, amen.
