“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!”

Revelation 1:17–18

Jesus did exactly what he said he would do: he died for our sins, rose from death to life, and thereby obliterated the barrier of sin and the specter of death. That’s the kind of Savior we can rely on. We can trust a Person who has conquered death.

And this trustworthy God is also at the beginning and the end of the story you’re living on this earth. He formed you, fashioning your personality, physical traits, and heart. He was there when you took your first breath of air. In fact, he who conquered death will hold your heart and your hands now, when you face death in the future, and every moment in between.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead—the power of the Holy Spirit—is alive in you today. In light of the Spirit’s life within you, dare to trust Almighty God with every single circumstance in your life today.

Jesus, I choose to trust you, the reliable, powerful, victorious resurrected One, amen.
