Vulnerability

vulnerability - How can being vulnerable help me experience God?

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Psalm 139:23-24

You spread out our sins before you—our secret sins—and you see them all.

Psalm 90:8

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other.

James 5:16

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

Romans 8:1-2

VULNERABILITY is being completely transparent with another person. It means revealing your real self: your deepest fears, hurts, sins, or doubts. Every human being has a need for that kind of intimacy, but often our fears of rejection hold us back. We naturally resist being vulnerable with God about our sins, especially the ones we don’t want to give up. However, it is only through being vulnerable that we find true healing, restoration, renewal, and forgiveness. When you open your heart to God, admit your sin, and ask for forgiveness, your relationship with God is deepened. His mercy frees you from the burdens of your sin and releases you from a life of regret and guilt. You have nothing to fear and nothing to hide because God has promised there is no condemnation for those who belong to him.
