Vision
vision - How can I align my vision with God’s plan for me? Why is it important for me to seek God’s vision for the future?
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8-9
Jesus replied, . . . “Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going. Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.”
John 12:35-36
The most important commandment is this: . . . “You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.”
Mark 12:29-30
IT HAS BEEN SAID that “vision is a picture of the future that produces a passion in the present.” Lack of vision is like trying to see underwater without a mask—everything is blurry, nothing makes sense, and we can feel impossibly lost. If we want to see our life’s direction more clearly, we need a goal to know where we are headed. Think about the kind of person God wants you to be ten, twenty, or thirty years from now. What character traits do you want to possess? How can you take steps toward God’s vision for your future today? Ask him to give you an eternal perspective as you envision your future, and trust him to help you navigate toward it with purpose and clarity.
