JESUS PROMISES to forgive all our sins, and yet the Bible says blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. Why is this the only unforgivable sin? When we reject the Holy Spirit, we reject the only one who can bring us to God so that our sins can be forgiven. And without forgiveness of sins, there is no salvation and eternal life. It’s not that God won’t forgive us; it’s that if we blaspheme the Holy Spirit, we won’t put ourselves in a position to be forgiven. If we repent of our sins, God offers forgiveness for all of them. We have only to ask. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is refusing to ask. The thought of an unforgivable sin can often make Christians feel uneasy. However, if you have accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, then be assured that you are completely forgiven.
