testing - Does God test the quality of my faith? How?

Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.

Deuteronomy 8:2

[God said,] “Jeremiah, I have made you a tester of metals, that you may determine the quality of my people.”

Jeremiah 6:27

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

James 1:2-4

TESTING AND TEMPTATION are two different things. Satan uses temptation to lead us away from God and into sin. God uses testing to purify his people and move them toward maturity. Even though testing can be painful, it brings many benefits. On the other side of testing we’ll find a more committed faith, a deeper wisdom, and a more intimate relationship with God. When your faith is being tested, thank God because that means he is preparing you to accomplish great things for him in the future.
