A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. . . . In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

WE EACH HAVE a special part in helping God advance his Kingdom on earth. The best way to participate in God’s work is by using the unique spiritual gifts he has given us. Therefore, it is important to know what our gifts are. If you’re not sure, start by asking God, trustworthy friends, and yourself this question: “What am I good at?” If you are good at cooking, then cook for those who need a meal. If you are good at listening, then listen well and often. If you are good at encouraging others, then look for someone to encourage every day. Make it a priority to know what your spiritual gifts are so you can fulfill the purpose for which God made you. The more you use your gifts to serve others, the more they will grow and make an even bigger impact on the lives of those around you.
