Silence

silence - Sometimes I feel as if God is being silent. Why doesn’t he respond?

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

Psalm 27:14

We are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.

1 John 5:14

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

Isaiah 65:24

SOMETIMES SILENCE in prayer feels deafening. Why doesn’t God always speak when we pray? God could be silent for a variety of reasons. Perhaps a sinful habit in our lives is getting in the way of our hearing his voice, or maybe he is testing our faith to trust him in the silence. He may want to talk about the one topic we are avoiding in prayer, or perhaps he knows what we really need right now is someone to listen to us. Do any of these reasons for his silence resonate with you? If so, then talk to God about them. Although you may never understand why God seems silent at times, don’t give up and leave him. He hasn’t left you. Use the opportunity to grow your faith, your patience, and your ability to listen.
