Sensitivity
sensitivity - How can I become more sensitive to others’ needs?
If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Romans 12:8
All of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
1 Peter 3:8
Don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
Hebrews 13:16
GOD’S WORD encourages us not to forget to do good, which implies that we often do. Perhaps this is because of our tendency to overcommit. Every day it seems we rush from one thing to another. We do a lot, but do we do good? When we focus on doing, we can lose sight of the needs right in front of us. Sensitivity begins by simply looking up from what we are doing. When we are aware of those around us, we are better able to stop and listen to them, consider their feelings and struggles, ask thoughtful questions, and show them compassion and care. God has equipped you in special ways to meet the needs of others around you. Who needs your help, care, and compassion today? Each time you put aside your own agenda to be genuinely present with another person, you are developing the kind of sensitive heart that is so precious to God and treasured by others.
