Self-worth
self-worth - How can I develop a healthier sense of self-worth?
Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
Romans 12:3
What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
Luke 12:6-7
He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
Titus 3:5
SATAN WILL TRY to convince us that our worth is based on how we measure up to others in appearance, possessions, accomplishments, or social status. This will usually leave us feeling either inadequate and envious or full of pride. A better method of determining our worth is comparing ourselves with God’s standards. Measured against his holiness, everyone falls short and is humbled; but in God’s eyes, every person is valued and loved. Maintaining a balance between humility over our sin and exultation over God’s lavish grace is a healthy way to live. God doesn’t base your worth on your appearance or accomplishments, so neither should you. Enjoy his grace, which has no comparison, and bask in the gracious ways that God shows his love to you.
