Self-esteem
self-esteem - How can I become a more secure, confident person?
We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.
Ephesians 1:4-6
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
Psalm 139:17
OUR SENSE OF SELF is often attacked because of how the world says women should look or act. Our self-esteem suffers when we see ourselves differently than God sees us. Instead of focusing on who the world says we should be, we need to think about who our Creator says we are. This is the only way to have a healthy self-esteem. The words God uses to describe us are “loved,” “precious,” “a masterpiece,” and “his child.” How might you carry yourself if you truly believed this is how God sees you? Ask God to take away the lies that tempt you to doubt your worth. The best way to do this is to read God’s Word over and over, letting his encouraging words give you confidence for each day.
