Reassurance

reassurance - I have prayed and accepted Christ as my Savior, but how can I be sure I’m saved?

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Romans 10:9-10

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

John 20:27-29

“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

Mark 9:23-24

WHEN DOUBT about our salvation creeps into our minds, we can be left desperate for reassurance. During these times, God’s promises can soothe our fears and offer us the encouragement we need. If you have accepted God’s forgiveness of your sin and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and Savior, you are saved. Our salvation doesn’t depend on how confident we are, how much we trust God, or our degree of faith—it depends on Jesus. However, Jesus promises blessings to those with great faith. If you are in a season of doubt, ask the Lord to help your unbelief.
