Pursuit

pursuit - How does God pursue me?

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!

1 John 3:1

This is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

Since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

Romans 5:10

I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.

Jeremiah 31:3

JUST AS A MOTHER longs to have a relationship with her child, so God longs to have a relationship with us. And similar to a parent, he wants to spend time with us, talk with us, show us his love, and offer us the best life possible. He pursues us not to get something but to give us something wonderful: help, hope, joy, peace, and eternal life. God calls everyone to turn away from sin and turn to a loving relationship with him. While he gives each person the freedom to choose how to respond to his love, his desire is that no one reject him. And because God is so loving, he convicts us of wrongful ways and guides us back to the right path. You are worthy of being pursued, not because of what you do but because of who you are as a daughter of God.
